Happy Holidays from Felix Comic Art! Which means it’s time for our December episode!

It’s a two-parter this month, with Part 1 being a roundtable from Rose City Comic Con 2017. Joining me is recurring guest Andy Robbins, along with returning guests, artists Nick Pitarra and Daniel Warren Johnson. We recap topics from previous episodes, as well as discuss current events in the hobby. And we also reveal the story behind the stolen David Mazzucchelli BORN AGAIN art from the David Mandel episode last year. You don’t want to miss this! This one is, as Nick Pitarra calls it, a spicy episode.

Part 2, then, features a visit with David Mandel, and his reaction to the resolution of his BORN AGAIN art saga. We also talk about a variety of other topics, including his thoughts on the explosive George Perez market, sketchbook commissions, and more. Please note, Part 2 is an exclusive for our VIP listeners who have been kind enough to leave a review for us on iTunes. If you’ve done so already, check your e-mail for the invite link. Everyone else, leave a review so you don’t miss out on future exclusive content!

Your NYCC 2017 experience continues with the November episode of The Felix Comic Art Podcast!

It's a two-parter this month, leading off with returning guest, Dan Pottick. You'll remember Dan from last year's NYCC roundtable, and by popular demand, he's back for his encore. Our second segment sees the return of our audience call-in feature, this time with collector Matt Todd. Matt has a lot of questions and comments about the show and the hobby. New collectors, especially, will want to tune in.

Our latest video has also just been added to our YouTube channel, featuring Daniel Warren Johnson! Check it out!

The Felix Comic Art Podcast returns from NYCC with a brand new show for October 2017! Better late than never!

We recorded multiple shows in New York and we're excited to lead off with multi-Eisner Award winning artist, Cliff Chiang! Want to hear Cliff share his thoughts about his career, his art, his adventures with fellow comics superstars like Brian K. Vaughan? Well, too bad! You'll find none of that here! We only care about original comic art, and that's all Cliff wanted to talk about anyway! It was a lot of fun chatting with Cliff (one of the smartest guys in comics!) and I hope you enjoy it, too.

The Felix Comic Art Podcast goes to Heroes Con in Charlotte, North Carolina for our 22nd episode!

We welcome fellow podcaster Jason Wood of the long-running 11 O'Clock Comics Podcast, to discuss sketch and commission collecting at conventions. Simply put, Jason gets a LOT of sketches and commissions. He discusses his methodical approach to maximizing each show experience, and shares tips for fellow Artists Alley hounds. Joining us are returning guests Jimmy Lawrence, Benno Rothschild, and Shannon Slayton who discuss their own perspectives on how to get the most out of attending a con.

For the second half, we bring you a recording of the Heroes Con original art panel. Moderated by Jason, with panel guests Daniel Warren Johnson, Jeff Singh, and yours truly. We talk about different facets of the hobby, and are joined by the audience in a lively Q&A session. So if you missed the panel, here's your chance to hear what went down!

The Felix Comic Art Podcast visits San Diego Comic Con 2017 where we talk to arguably the most influential person in the original art market, co-founder of Hertiage Auctions, Jim Halperin.

Jim is a major comic art collector in his own right, but on this day, we focus on Heritage and its impact on the comic art market. All auction houses tout record prices achieved...but what about potential market manipulation or shilling? Jim doesn't shy away from any of it. If you've been curious about what goes on behind the curtain at auction houses, this episode is a must-listen. Thanks to Jim for being so game!

In addition, part 2 is a bonus section from SDCC where we catch up with some former guests Satya Chetri, Gene Park, Ron Sonenthal, Lambert Sheng, and Andy Robbins!

Also, go to our YouTube channel (youtube.com/felixcomicart) to check out our latest video: The SDCC 2017 dinner with Walter Simonson hosted by Scott Dunbier! It was a blast, thank you Walter and Scott!

The Felix Comic Art Podcast returns for July 2017 with a double-sized episode from Chicago!

Part one features comics creator DANIEL WARREN JOHNSON! Daniel's new Image book EXTREMITY is on the stands, check it out! Daniel is also a comic art collector, who has been operating on a strict budget. And yet he's still managed to put together a collection he loves. It's a great perspective on the hobby. Thanks Daniel!

Part two is our C2E2 roundtable featuring the three-headed collecting beast of Chicago: Chris Caira, Chris Killackey, and Ron Sonenthal. Our roundtable episodes have proven to be very popular, and for those who enjoy them, this one won't disappoint. Commissions, new art, vintage art, collecting advice...we cover quite a bit!

We also add TWO art show-and-tell videos, from Daniel and Ron, to our YouTube channel.

The Felix Comic Art Podcast welcomes Robert Kirkman to the show!

Robert loves comic art. Yes, he created THE WALKING DEAD and co-created INVINCIBLE. Yes, he's a partner at Image Comics. Yes, he runs Skybound. And so on and so forth. But what really matters to us: He loves comic art!

Especially comic art from the '90s. Check out his show-and-tell video on our YouTube channel, which features such '90s stalwarts as Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Whilce Portacio, and Dale Keown.

Thanks to Robert for the chat and sharing all his stories of collecting. Especially the absolutely insane one from his early days, which is guaranteed to make even the most hardcore collector feel like a responsible adult in comparison.

The Felix Comic Art Podcast presents the ultimate episode for THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS original art fans with our special guest, Scott Free!

Who is Scott Free? Scott was Frank Miller's art rep during THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, and it was through Scott that so much of the best DKR art was sold (including the DKR #2 cover). Then it all ended abruptly, and Scott's been off the radar for the past 30 years. DKR art fans have been looking for him ever since. What happened? Why did Frank Miller stop selling his art? Also, why did Frank take over inking from Klaus Janson? Listen and find out!

Check out our social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) to see some vintage pics of Scott and the incredible DKR art he sold. Stay on top of everything we do by signing up for our newsletter at www.felixcomicart.com. We've got tons of new art lined up for the site, including the latest batch from James Jean! Thanks and enjoy the show!

The Felix Comic Art Podcast returns for April 2017 with a double-sized episode!

First we meet up with long-time comic art collector and dealer, Glenn Danzig. Yes, THAT Glenn Danzig. Our talk with Glenn runs the gamut, from vintage art to new art, the effect of investors on our hobby, as well as his advice for collectors on how to participate in a hobby where values have skyrocketed. Many thanks to Glenn for making a rare podcast appearance!

Thanks to Glenn as well for doing a show-and-tell video, which you can see on our YouTube channel.

Part two of this episode is a Q&A with two collectors, Jake Pickthall and Jimmy Lawrence. I answer their questions about the hobby and being a rep. Don't care? Then skip this! Enjoy it? Then let me know, especially if you want to participate next time!

Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Sign up for the mailing list on our site at www.felixcomicart.com. We've got lots of great new art coming up this month, and the mailing list always gets the heads-up! Thanks, and enjoy the show!

Listen in as these long-time collectors pass along hard-earned hobby wisdom, share stories of collecting triumphs and disasters, and just plain talk comic art. If you liked our last ECCC roundtable, you're gonna love this one!

Andy also does a show-and-tell video, which you can check out on our YouTube channel.

We're back for February 2017 with our guest, collector Satya Chetri!

Satya is on the young side for this hobby, and has still been able to put together a great collection of vintage and modern art. But what's really remarkable is that he got started while living in India. Think this hobby is too tough to navigate? Well, HE did it from India! Listen to find out how!
